Frequently Asked Questions
Q): How is the reglazing done?
A): The surface is cleansed with industrial
cleaners. Chips, holes, cracks and damages areas are filled. The entire surface is belt sanded to remove the original
finish and any residue. The surface is then etched and primed to leave a rough surface that will bond to the new
coating. The surface is then sprayed with a high-tech coating that hardens to form a new shiny surface.
Q): What material do you use?
A): We use the best quality materials in the industry. Our
coating is a high-tech, two component enamel. It is technically an acrylic aliphatic poly-glass urathane which
means it is a coating that has superior glass and color retention and after extended abuse and exposure to harsh
elements. Our finished work is durable. The products used are specially developed for the hard surface refinishing
industry. Some of our competition use low cost, poor quality coatings NOT intended for the refinishing industry
that will not stand up to wear and tear.
Q): How do I take care of the new surface?
A): Absolutely nothing should be places on the new surface
for a period of 48 hours, especially water. This will allow the new finish to cure. A full cure takes about 7 days.
Abrasive cleaners should be avoided. No rubberized mats or daisy stickers should be used. Do clean the surface
with a gentle cleaner such as the scrubbing bubble cleaners. Reglazed surfaces are easy to keep fresh and clean.
They do not require harsh chemicals or rough scrubbing.
Q): How soon can it be used?
A): Do not use the surface for a period of 48 hours after
the fixture has been resurfaced. Absolutely nothing should be put on the fixture for this period, especially water.
Q): How long is the warranty?
A): We offer a full
five-year warranty.
We have been in business since 1991. We have an excellent reputation for service
and always honor our warranty. Be careful of individuals or
companies who offer a warranty but fail to back it up by never returning your
calls or who won't be around in a couple of years. We have to re-do many reglazing jobs
with poor workmanship by companies that supposedly warranty their jobs but can't be found by the owner. This increases
the owner's expense more than double as we have to charge to strip the first reglazing job.
Q): What can be reglazed?
A): Porcelain
bathtubs and sinks, fiberglass bathtubs, tile counters, showers and
walls cultured marble counters, appliances, laminated counters. We have
samples in our office and some great before and after pictures (more
then just what’s on our web site). We also have displays in our office,
such as Cast iron tub, and three sinks. Please come into our office
any time to have a look. We are located at 3043 Foothill Blvd. suite
#15 in La Crescenta, Ca.
Q): Why would I reglaze
rather than replace?
A): Save time
and money! You can save 80-85% over the cost of replacing an item. For
example, a bathtub can cost more than $1,000.00 to replace with new!
Reglazing saves!
Q): Can I Change the color?
A): Yes. We can
match any color you choose. We have color charts where you can choose
any color. There is an extra charge for custom colors. Our standard
prices are for white or almond. These are the most popular colors requested.
Q): Can you fix chips stains?
A): Yes. We repair chips, stains, burn marks, knife marks,
holes, gouge scratches and a variety of other damage. The surfaces are completely repaired and restored to their
original form. Our customers think we work magic when they look at our work.
Q): Can you fix fiberglass cracks?
A): This is one of our most popular service requests. Fiberglass
bathtubs and showers commonly crack open or a plumber has left holes from repairs. Many owners think they have
to replace the entire unit but we can repair it on site! The crack often occurred due to insufficient support under
the tub or shower. We fill the underneath with a hardening form, patch the crack and prevent further damage to
the property from water spillage into the area under the tub.
